IMDT is looking for a firmware engineer who thinks hardware and software

As a firmware engineer, you have a deep understanding of both hardware and software, down to the component level. You have the programming skills to determine which constructs are safe, buggy, or can be applied under the given system constraints. You’re ready to roll up your sleeves to meet any challenge, including:

  • Firmware development
  • FW architecture design
  • Working with emulators and prototypes to write software for hardware validation
  • Working with the electrical team to bring up hardware, test functionality, debug and improve performance of electrical component selection


  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics or related Science/Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in embedded software development
  • Proficient with multiple RISC processor architectures such as ARM Cortex series
  • Proficient with device driver development
  • Proficient in embedded C
  • Familiarity with system communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, USART etc
  • Fluency in electrical engineering fundamentals and knowledge of electrical design basics
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a small, multi-disciplined, fast-paced team environment
  • Passion for new ideas and technologies
  • Excel both as a team player and a leader
